Please find below syllabi from my Introduction to Social Psych. (Psych 170) course and my Laboratory in Social Psychology (Psych 201) course. I have also included a syllabus from a course I taught at the University of Michigan, Psychology of Activism: Gender, Race, & Engagement.

My primary goal as an instructor is to encourage students to think critically and deeply about course material so that they leave my class both knowing the “facts” and with the ability to consider multiple (sometimes competing) perspectives on an issue. Ideally, I want students to recognize and explain the relationships between different concepts across the course, and to situate knowledge in a larger socio-historical context. In order to accomplish this larger goal, I work towards several smaller ones: engaging students in the process of learning; creating links to the real world; teaching and learning across difference; and challenging assumptions and building bridges across topics and disciplines.
