The Engaged Motherhood Project
I am interested in interviewing people for a project on motherhood and community engagement.
I’m looking for two kinds of volunteers: (1) people who identify as mothers and have been engaged in some kind of community work, and (2) people who have worked with “mother-based community groups (like La Leche League, or a local/national organization, “Mothers Against Drunk Driving” or “Mothers for Peace” or even parent-based organizations like PFLAG).
I am asking people about their opinions of and experiences with motherhood and community engagement. You need not identify as a woman or a mother to participate (though that will be the main focus of the project).
You do need to have been actively involved in some form of community engagement. If you are not sure if you would qualify, please contact me to find out!
Interviews will take place in a location of your choosing and last 1-2 hours; some interviews may take place by skype or phone. Interviews will be audio-recorded. If you are interested/available for multiple interviews, I may ask for permission to contact you for follow-up interviews.
Participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time for any reason. If you agree to speak with me once, that does not mean you have to speak with me again. Participation is also completely confidential. All participants will receive a small ($10) gift card for their participation. Please email me at curtinlab@gmail.com if you are interested in participating, or for more information. Thank you.
